Best PC Build for Gaming Under $3000
Description
Introduction
The strongest gaming PC we can build for under $3,000 from current deals: a flagship-class video card, a top gaming processor, 32GB of DDR5, 2TB of fast storage, and a premium power supply. It is built for 4K gaming and high refresh rate 1440p at high settings, plus streaming, editing, and heavy multitasking.
Every part was picked from current listings for the best combination of price and compatibility, and the whole list comes to $2,991.79, $79.50 below the parts' reference prices. Prices were checked when this page was last updated and can change, so the total updates with every refresh.
CPU and Cooler
The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core is a 8-core processor on the AM5 socket with integrated graphics. For gaming, a fast six-core-or-better CPU paired with a capable video card delivers high frame rates without overspending on cores most games do not use.
For cooling we added the Cooler Master Elite Liquid 240 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, a liquid cooler that lists support for AM5, AM4, LGA1851. This CPU does not include a cooler in the box, so one is required.
Motherboard
The ASRock B850M-X R2.0 Micro-ATX AM5 Motherboard is a Micro-ATX board with the B850 chipset that matches the CPU's AM5 socket and takes DDR5 memory. It is the lowest-cost compatible board in our current listings, which leaves more of the budget for the parts that affect frame rates.
Memory
32GB of DDR5 at 5600 MT/s (TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic 10L DDR5 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) 5600MHz (PC5-44800) CL46 Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD EXPO...). 32GB is the comfortable amount for modern games with a browser, voice chat, and streaming software running in the background. See our guide to how much RAM you need.
Storage
The Silicon Power 2TB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 SSD Solid State Drive (SP002TBP34A60M28) is a 2TB NVMe. A solid state drive makes the PC boot, open apps, and load games far faster than a hard drive. Games keep growing, so 1TB is the practical minimum for a gaming PC.
Video Card
The ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Graphics Card with 16GB of video memory is the heart of this gaming build. 16GB of video memory leaves headroom for high-resolution textures in new releases.
Compare it with other options in our guide to choosing a graphics card.
Case
The AL01 Open Frame Computer case DIY PC Test Bench for ATX M-Board,1Pc fits ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX boards, so it holds this Micro-ATX motherboard with room to spare.
Power Supply
We estimate this build draws about 577W at full load, so we recommend at least 850W. The ASRock PRO 850G Power Supply provides 850W and is 80 Plus Gold rated, which leaves headroom for upgrades and keeps the fan quiet.
How we picked the parts
At $3,000 we start with the strongest video card that fits a complete build, then pick the fastest eight-core-or-better processor that keeps the build balanced. Memory is 32GB of DDR5, storage is a 2TB NVMe SSD, cooling is a 240mm or larger liquid cooler where one fits, and the power supply is 80 Plus Gold or better with generous headroom.
The build is recalculated from current listings every time we refresh prices, so the parts change with the best deals while the total stays under $3,000 and the build passes our compatibility check.
What to expect at this budget
Expect 4K gaming at high settings in most current games, especially with upscaling, and very high frame rates at 1440p for high refresh rate monitors. The processor and memory also handle streaming, video editing, and heavy multitasking alongside games.
Is it worth spending this much?
If you game at 4K or on a 240Hz 1440p monitor, yes. For 1080p or 60Hz screens, our $1,500 build gets you most of the experience for half the price.

Best Gaming PC Build Under $3000 FAQ
Can a $3,000 PC run games at 4K?
Yes. At this budget most of the money goes to a high-end video card that runs current games at 4K with high settings, especially with DLSS or FSR upscaling.
Why a liquid cooler?
High-end processors run hot under sustained load, and a 240mm or larger liquid cooler keeps them cool and quiet. When none fits the build, we fall back to a strong air cooler.
How much does the Best Gaming PC Build Under $3000 cost?
$2,991.79 for all 8 parts at current prices, which is $79.50 below their combined reference prices. Prices change, so the total is updated with every refresh.
Are all the parts compatible?
Yes. The part list passes our compatibility check: the CPU and motherboard share the AM5 socket, the memory is DDR5 to match the board, the case fits a Micro-ATX motherboard, and the 850W power supply covers the estimated 577W draw with headroom.
Does this build include Windows?
No. The part list covers the hardware. Add a Windows license in the PC Builder's Operating System row if you need one.
Can I change parts?
Yes. Open the build in the PC Builder to swap any part. Compatible-only filtering is on by default, so every option it shows fits the rest of the build.

Use Buy all parts. It adds the whole list to your cart in one step, where you can review each item before checking out.
